Tri East has been developed to fill a gap for young triathletes in the East Region. The primary focus of Tri East is to bridge the gap in the triathlon pathway between triathlon clubs and the academy system or super series racing.
Training sessions at Tri East have been specifically designed to add to young triathletes current training and will purely focus on developing the skills needed to race in the East & beyond. Bringing together a core group of like minded athletes working in a training squad will enable young triathletes to continue their way along the British Triathlon Pathway shown below.
There will be two elements to the offering – Development Squad and Skills School.
The Tri East Development Squad is for athletes born 2008 or early who are racing at the top level in the East Region league and other national events. The key focus will be to provide athletes the opportunity to develop SKILLS needed to help in their journey on the triathlon pathway to academy trials, Junior Super Series and beyond. Please read selection criteria here before completing the membership application form.
Tri East Skills School Squad is designed for athletes that are new to the sport and will help develop the basic SKILLS needed to race. Athletes must be at least 8 years old and above and be able to swim their race distance, be able to ride a bike competently and run at least 600m non-stop.
Tri East has been formed in partnership with Ipswich High School Triathlon Club who are providing training facilities and support.
